To assist the Dentist in Phase I Dentistry; restorative procedures (amalgam, composite fillings), assisting the Dentist with oral surgery and take x-rays when needed (panoramic, periapical and bitewings). Prepare proper tray set-ups, sterilize all instruments, and clean the operatory after each patient, and stock operatory with supplies. Documentation in patient charts as well as reviewing and updating medical and dental history, giving post-operative instructions and oral hygiene instructions when needed. Communicate referrals to patients and other facilities and manage questions, patient concerns, and information on medication refills. Help the patient feel at ease and explain the procedures being performed. Since work is performed around blood, saliva and other health diseases, special care is needed to sterilize instruments and follow universal precautions.

  • One (1) years experience in assisting!
  • Certificate of completion issued for the Radiation Safety/Techniques Course!
  • Bi-lingual skills a plus!


Assists the Dentists to place restorations and carve anatomy, complete chart documentation, medical histories, identifying the patient complaints, perform proper tray setups for each patient and instrument sterilization. Assists the Dentists with oral surgery procedures including extractions. Takes X-Rays and processes film, complete patient encounters, identify patient follow-up treatment, review oral hygiene instructions with each patient, order clinical supplies, stocks and disinfects the operatories, maintain records for equipment maintenance, opening and closing clinic duties. Makes referrals, and assists the Hygienists, team members, and front office.



High School Diploma/GED with one (1) years experience in assisting. Certificate of completion issued for the Radiation Safety/Techniques Course. A copy of proof of having current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Criminal background check and drug screen required.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit and listen. The incumbent frequently is required to use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb or balance. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
