Frankfort, Ky. (February 10, 2021) The following is a statement from our CEO, David Bolt, regarding the federal decision to provide certain Community Health Centers with a supplemental supply of COVID-19 vaccines to administer.
“We applaud the Biden administration’s decision to distribute COVID-19 vaccines directly to our Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), or Community Health Centers as they are commonly called. Our Community Health Centers already provide the medical home for one in eight Kentuckians—more than 550,000 people. They are located in medically underserved communities and are a trusted source for high quality, compassionate holistic medical care for everyone including the uninsured, homeless, and other populations that have historically encountered access to care obstacles. The Kentucky Primary Care Association (KPCA) is working with the federal government and our Community Health Center members to help expedite an effective vaccine distribution plan so that our providers can start administering the COVID-19 vaccine as quickly as possible.”
