Monticello Medial Associates Announces New Services
Expansion means more healthcare options in Monticello/Wayne County region

Frankfort, Ky. (March 19, 2021) A Monticello healthcare provider is expanding its services. Monticello Medical Associates is adding new care specialties and resources following federal approval of a new level of care classification for the practice.

“We are committed to providing our patients with high quality, affordable healthcare,” said Robert Parmelee, CEO at Monticello Medical Associates. “As part of our medical home approach, we plan to add licensed clinical social workers to our staff as well as full dental services. Our mission is to provide comprehensive primary care and behavioral health care for individuals and their families.  These essential holistic services treat the whole body and increase positive patient outcomes.”

These new services to be offered by Monticello Medical Associates are in addition to already established primary care and resources provided to residents of Monticello, Wayne County, and the region. Those include primary care, an independent laboratory, X-ray department, and a vaccine program for children, among others.

“This expansion of services will help provide an even more coordinated, comprehensive, and patient centered prevention treatment plan for our patients that will include mental health, medical, dental, and support services,” concluded Parmelee.

The new designation from the federal Health Services Resources Administration, or HRSA, allows Monticello Medical Associates to operate just like a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), or Community Health Center as they are commonly called. This FQHC “look alike” operational structure is designed for local providers, like Monticello Medical Associates, to maximize access to care for medically underserved populations. The entities provide comprehensive primary health care services that are responsive to identified health care needs, provide services to all persons regardless of their ability to pay, and that meet all federal Health Center Program requirements.

Monticello Medical Associates is a member of the Kentucky Primary Care Association (KPCA). “These new services will benefit residents in the Monticello and Wayne County area by providing additional access to high quality, affordable care,” added David Bolt, Chief Executive Officer of KPCA. “By improving access, positive health outcomes should also improve which will lead to better overall community health.”
